I posted leaded glass dome story of creation few days ago. Here are more images of the leaded glass dome in process of fabrication in our studio

We visited construction site on early stages of construction and discussed details of leaded glass domed skylight installation with a construction manager

After sketches were approved by clients Eugene started metal frame fabrication. That is one of the most complex frames Eugene fabricated. We used a lot of tricks and specially designed features to fabricate the domed metal frame. We cut templates using our water jet machine to achieve the highest level of precision and accuracy. Eugene is very proud of his work.metal frame fabrication for stained and leaded glass decorative dome

Assembling of finished leaded glass dome in our studio. We have to be sure all dome parts will come together perfectly to avoid unpleasant surprises during on site installation

Metal frames painting takes a lot of space. We are lucky to have a large studio

Glass cleaning lady. I am not the best person for this type of work - I am terribly afraid of height and working on a platform 30 feet from the floor is not easy for me. Beauty demands sacrifices, so I was there

Finished project is beyond our expectations

Here is another sample of plagiarism based on our leaded glass skylights geometrical series. I got accustomed that my stained and leaded glass windows are replicated in many countries but this case is very special. Sad to say - I found few more projects replicated by..... Chinese? ... NO! Canadian artist! even more... Mississauga based artist... literally... our neighbor, a colleague. I published first the image of original leaded glass skylight and then following images by other leaed glass artist .

Compare to literally fake panels. Lead is simply glued to the single pane of glass

I like when creative people get inspired by my work. I publish educational articles about how to design stained and leaded glass projects on regular bases. But I really do get upset when the design is copied without proper analysis and understanding how glass works with poor artistic quality

Moreover, I found a cropped image from our portfolio on the website of this lady - something that I would never expect from a Canadian artist and in my opinion it is a crime - that image is our property and can not be used by anyone without our permission

Well... staff happens, it's life. I wanted to form in my large kiln clear glass wall divider panel with pale yellow rock accents fused into clear base with gold leaf interlayer. Glass layout looks good before firing. It will take 3 days to form the glass

It looks great after firing! Notice how nicely pale yellow rocks transmitted clear ice-cold base - great effect! I love it!

Well.. It was late, the guys were extremely tired and they did brake the  panel while removing it from the table. The good thing is nobody's hurt. The lesson learned: have a rest when tired - this may save few days of work.

Eugene is pushing a table with glass into our Dragon Kiln. New project - new expectations. The texture will be imprinted into glass after firing.
